Can LiFePO4 replace car start batteries?

LiFePO4 (LFP) batteries are not designed to replace traditional lead-acid car start batteries in the engine bay.  LFP batteries are protected by a built-in Battery Management System (BMS) which limits the maximum discharge current to ensure it stays within the designed specifications of the battery.  Traditional lead-acid car start batteries can often deliver over 200 Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) and are only limited by a fuse.  LFP batteries are also not suitable for the high temperatures in the engine bay under the bonnet.
